ArcelorMittal, the biggest steel maker of the ball, expects China's steel demand to slow this year. Adityamittal, the company's chief financial officer, said demand for construction has grown more gently as China's credit for real estate investment tightens.
In a telephone interview, Mittal told reporters that ansellamitar expects China's steel demand to grow by up to 4.5 per cent this year and 7 per cent last year. China is the world's largest consumer of steel.
The company also expects steel demand in the United States to grow by up to 4.5 per cent this year; The demand for steel in 28 EU member countries will increase by up to 2.5 per cent.
